Commissioning a Portrait
There are fairly limitless and varied reasons for commissioning a portrait, whether the purpose be:
- as a personal record;
- to update your business profile;
- for use in a publication;
- for use in promotional literature/'dust-jacket'/CD cover;
- for use on your /other professional website; or,
- for your actor, model or agency portfolio.
Whatever your reason, motivation or requirement, a be-spoke image, created in close collaboration with a professional photographer, who will listen to your needs and personalise your brief, is all-important.
The Photographer's Aim
My aim is to capture the most engaging and magnetic reflections of an individual’s personality and nature. Informality and spontaneity are retained as priorities within my target of attaining a classic and memorable portrait.
I undertake to provide a unique and customised product through all stages, from pre-shoot brief and guidance, to the final image/print, thus ensuring the creative elements from inception to completion combine seamlessly to create a cohesive, individual image which will endure in both quality and time.
Photographic Session Outline & Guideline Costs
Described below are two of the main packages presently offered for private commissions, but further variations of the underlying packages are available, in accommodation with client preferences/briefs, and a quotation without obligation will be provided on request.
PACKAGE I : Photographic Portrait & Archival Prints Session
This comprises:
- the photographic portrait session,
- image processing,
- first edit and preliminary re-touching,
- provision of proofs in electronic format/paper contact sheet format,
- final edit and final re-touching,
- the provision of 3 unmounted images to A4 size, printed to archival quality* or,
- provision of a framed, mounted archival print to A3+ size*
(*Further prints and mounted prints to a wide variety of sizes and finishes are available, together with provision of images in a photographic presentation box).
PACKAGE II : 'Web-Usage Only' Photographic Portrait Session
This package is suited to portraits where the client requires these in the form of electronic file images, for web-usage only.
Guideline Costs
Whilst costs will vary according to the nature of the brief, together with the quantity and format of the finished portraits, as a general guide:
- Photographic Portrait & Archival Prints Session, commence from £550;
- 'Web-Usage Only' Photographic Portrait Session, commence from £400.
Loyalty/Family Discounts:
- A 10% discount is received where individual sessions for sitters of the same party/family are booked at the same time;
- A 10% discount is received where further portrait sessions, at a future date, from an existing commissioning party, are undertaken.
Loyalty discounts may not be used in conjunction with a referral discount.
